Haico Beukers and Marga Scholma
The Beukers Scholma design agency is owned by Haico Beukers and Marga Scholma and specializes in editorial design for the cultural and service sectors.
Our work is the result of a clear, content-oriented approach. The way we see it, each project carries its own design within itself. In consultation with the client, we bring that design to the fore, keeping the right balance between contemporary and efficient, playful and tight, clarity and stimulation, responsibility and sustainability. This approach applies to everything: books, campaigns, identities, websites or motion graphics.
Our creativity rests on a practical foundation. In addition to design, we edit both text and images, implement the planning and production stages.
Our work has often received awards, including the Best Dutch Book Designs, the European Design Award and the Red Dot Award. We regularly sit on juries in the field of design and architecture and support education with guest lectures and advice, among others for the TU Delft Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering and the Minerva Academy in Groningen. Haico Beukers was a teacher at various visual arts academies for many years, he was chairman of individual members and bureaus of the BNO, chairman of the board AGA LAB and consultant for stamp design at PostNL. Marga has been a jury member of the Woutertje Pieterse Prijs. Haico is currently chairman of SRO (Stichting Rechtshulp Ontwerpers).
